Rachael Rees is the warm and welcoming presence at the heart of Muchelney Pottery. As Office Manager, she keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes — from overseeing day-to-day operations to supporting the team and visitors alike with calm efficiency and deep industry knowledge.
With her mix of professionalism, warmth, and expertise, Rachael plays a key role in continuing the Muchelney legacy alongside Ben Leach and Mark Melbourne and has been an integral member of the crew for nearly 20 years.
*She also knows where they keep the Somerset Cider Brandy!
A Passion for Pottery.
Rachael is also the daughter of renowned studio potter Nick Rees, celebrated for his finely thrown stoneware pots. Growing up immersed in the world of craft and clay has given her an exceptional understanding of studio pottery which shines through in every conversation.
Rachael’s insight into both the creative and practical sides of the business makes any visit to Muchelney truly special — and a tour with her is as informative as it is enjoyable. Her passion for the pottery’s history, processes, and people brings the story of Muchelney to life.
