The Muchelney Pottery supper plate is a beautiful, substantial piece — designed to serve with ease and to elevate even the simplest of meals. With a broad surface and gently upturned rim, it’s ideal for hearty suppers, generous lunches, or as a base plate for layered table settings.
Measuring approximately 4cm high by 23cm wide, this hand-thrown plate has a quiet presence that makes it equally at home in everyday use or more considered gatherings. Whether it holds a slice of homemade pie, a Sunday roast, or a colourful seasonal salad, it brings an understated elegance to every table.
It also works wonderfully as a charger plate — the foundation to a layered place setting, helping define each place at the table, whether you’re hosting a special occasion or laying out breakfast with care. Pair it with our bowls or tea plates for a coordinated, handmade feel.
Each piece is individually hand-thrown and woodfired in our traditional Somerset kiln. Flame subtly marks the surface, creating soft, natural variations that make every plate unique. These are not just functional objects, but pieces with character, made to last and made to be lived with.
Dishwasher safe and finished with lead-free glazes, this plate is suitable for use in conventional and microwave ovens (though not on the hob).
