The Muchelney Pottery salad bowl is made to be shared — a wide, generous piece that brings people together around the table. Whether filled with vibrant leafy greens, sun-warmed tomatoes, roasted root vegetables or grains and herbs, it turns simple food into a celebration.
Hand-thrown and fired in our traditional wood kiln, each bowl is unique. Measuring approximately 12.5cm high by 27cm wide, it’s large enough to serve a crowd and striking enough to sit at the centre of any table, indoors or out. Perfect for family lunches, summer barbecues, or generous helpings of seasonal fare.
The flames of the wood kiln create natural variations on the surface of the pot, so each bowl carries the individuality of the firing process — no two are ever quite the same. These variations give every piece a sense of life and warmth, rooted in the Somerset landscape and the hands that shaped it.
This bowl is dishwasher safe and glazed with lead-free materials. It’s suitable for use in conventional and microwave ovens (but not on the hob). From garden feasts to winter suppers, it’s a piece that brings beauty, function, and tradition to any meal.
