The large squat casserole from Muchelney Pottery is made for wholesome, home-cooked food — hearty stews, slow roasts, or family favourites that fill the house with warmth. With a generous 3-litre capacity and measuring approximately 14cm high by 19cm wide, it’s ideal for feeding a gathering, preparing leftovers, or turning everyday meals into something quietly special.
Each casserole is hand-thrown and fired in our traditional wood kiln. The flames lick the surface of every pot, creating a finish that is completely individual — no two pieces are ever the same! It’s not just cookware; it’s a piece of living craft, deeply connected to Somerset’s ceramic heritage.
Suitable for conventional and microwave ovens (but not for use on the hob), our stoneware casseroles are as practical as they are beautiful. They are dishwasher safe, and all glazes are lead-free. Designed to move seamlessly from oven to table, these pots are perfect for slow food and shared moments.
