The large mug from Muchelney Pottery is made for those who don’t do things by halves. Holding a full pint, it’s perfect for a serious cup of tea, a hearty coffee — or even a chilled pint of Somerset cider enjoyed in the sunshine.
Measuring approximately 11.5cm high by 9.5cm wide, this hand-thrown mug offers both comfort and capacity. The curved form keeps drinks warmer / cooler for longer, while the sturdy handle makes it satisfying to hold, whether it’s cradled in the morning or raised for a toast in the garden.
Each mug is individually thrown and woodfired in our traditional Somerset kiln. The flames gently alter each surface, leaving subtle variations in tone and texture that make every piece entirely unique. No two are quite the same — each one a testament to craftsmanship and fire.
Dishwasher safe and glazed using lead-free materials, this mug is also suitable for conventional and microwave ovens (though not for the hob). Whether it’s tea by the fireside or cider in the orchard, this is a proper mug — made for real life and made to last.
