This hand-thrown coffee mug from Muchelney Pottery is made for moments of pause — the quiet start to the day, the mid-morning break, or the welcome cup after supper. With its gently rounded form and satisfying weight, it turns a simple cup of coffee into something grounding and considered.
Measuring approximately 7.5cm high by 6.5cm wide and holding 0.25 litres, it’s perfectly sized for a strong espresso, a flat white, or a smooth filter brew. The handle is shaped for comfort, and the rim is soft to the lip — every detail designed with use in mind.
Each mug is individually thrown and woodfired in our Somerset kiln. The flame creates subtle, natural variations across the surface giving every mug its own character — no two are quite the same. These unique touches are the mark of a pot made by hand, not machine.
Dishwasher safe and finished with lead-free glaze, it’s also suitable for use in conventional and microwave ovens (though not on the hob). Whether used once a day or ten, this is pottery made to live with — practical, beautiful, and full of soul.
